Trying to get some folks from the forum that live/camp in the west to get together with on weekend camping trips.We are close to Lake Tahoe and need some new friends to camp with.There are a ton of places within a couple hours of our home.PM me if you want to get together:)

We have the same problem living here in Fresno. Have tried finding a camping group but most have limited membership or require a referral by another club member. I've even put the same basic post as yours on craigslist with no results. We're at least 5 hours from you but if you want, send me a pm when you make plans to go somewhere and maybe we could meet up. I hope you have better luck than we have :)

We also love to make new friends while camping. It just makes sense since we have quite a bit in common with other campers/RVers. look into rvillage and also check for Good Sam chapters in your area, we belong to our local club and have something going on every month.

We have the same issue here, with finding someone to go out with. We use to have a big group that ranged from a couple campers up to close to 10. Now it seems like everyone that we camped with has given up on the fun. I wish there was a site that you could trust to help you find good people to camp with. I am hesitant to use Craigslist, never know what you might get there.

I wish I could also find camping friends. My situation is that I took an early retirement 13 years ago, yet my wife is still working for another 3 years. Since she is an educator we can only take long trips during July. We do get out during most months for short periods and Spring Break, Thanksgiving and Christmas (oppps, I should be politically correct and call it Winter Break - NAW!). Most groups I've looked at, do their rallies/events during the months other than July (her most free month). So, until she is free we will have to fly solo for the next 3 years.

We're in the same boat. Wanting to make some new camping friends too. I happened to find a group not too far from us via a Facebook page. We're planning on a group campout in April. Maybe try that

Join the Good Sam Club and join one or more chapters in your area. We have made many friends through the Good Sam Club.

To get the most out of Good Sam you must PARTICIPATE, don't just join for a few discounts.

We actually attend the popup rally wish I would find some camping friends with kids so the kids can have friends and we can camp together.

Popup ralley is good , we attend every year but a regular group will be nice. the meetup camper group seems to have members with no kids.

Same problem here...we have a few friends that will camp once or twice a year. But no regulars.

I have belonged to three camping groups. One I got kicked out of because the "leader" wanted to control what was said on the message board and the other two shut down for lack of participation. There are hundreds or thousands of local camping groups all over. Through all of that I found two great couples we camp with regular and have become good friends with.

If you want to head north a couple hours, we will be at Goose Lake State Park in July. First weekend of July is a hang glider festival. Great fishing maybe 30 minutes up the hills in California. Hunting for obsedion or picking up semi precious Sun Stones are a few of the things to do. BTW Goose Lake is 15 miles south of Lakeview on US395, right onmthe OR/CA border.
