Camping in a tent only site
Sorry if this has been covered or beat to death but my search results come up with nothing. Is this a discouraged practice or not allowed? In my thought process it would be fine, it is still a sin...

I do a lot of camping at NF campgrounds in the Sierra. I have not seen a TC in a tent only site yet. All the campgrounds and campsites are dry camping - no hookups. Mostly, it seems to be that the tent sites do not have individual parking pads, have tight road access that larger vehicles can't manage, or that they want to cater to each group and ensure RVs won't take the entire campground.
As for noise, I have not found one type to be quieter than another. Many tenters bring generators and radios. My doing dishes after a meal is no more disruptive (using my water pump) than anything else. And it's not like I would be doing dishes while people are trying to sleep.
