- jdbossExplorerI think list was 25K or so, we paid about 20. We got it from Mike Jones Motors in Hamersville OH and had a very favorable experience. Apparently he works with the factory on new options/improvements. For its small footprint and relatively light weight, it has about everything. TV/DVD, sound system, convection microwave, three-way fridge, AC that will run off our 2000 watt Honda generator and a surprisingly comfortable bed (better than our sleep number bed), wireless electric jacks, blackout package.
- JfreshExplorerWent down to Funtime RV my local campsite dealer and they had one 8' footer. Honestly, one of the strangest shopping experiences. I told them I wanted a 6.8 they said they only had one 8'. I had to ask to see it, told me nothing about the product, said they would be ordering anymore until they sold the 8', could not get me a price on a 6.8, could tell me how long to order one.
I guess I am going to have to travel because I don't feel comfortable purchasing sight unseen. Yongkie if you are serious we should team up and beat them up on price. The 8' was $30 with 9k off advertised.
Want is the pricing on the 6.8? - jdbossExplorerOh and while I'm thinking of it... in this particular truck, we have six of the Torklift aluminum steps. Our dealer thought it would only take three or four, but when we got it on the truck, the steps were clearly way too short. He actually ordered two additional steps and had Torklift drop ship them directly to us (at no cost to us).
- jdbossExplorerGuess I didn't answer your whole question. The only thing under it is a thick rubber pad (.5" or so) over a spray on bed liner. So nothing significant. We thought it looked a little odd at first, but we are good with it!
- jdbossExplorerYes it does, but ironically enough I like it.... we routinely put assorted folding chairs, extension cords, hoses and even the sewage hose tube in the space alongside the camper in the bed.
Overall height is 11'8, rounded up to 12 for safety sake.
No complaints! - JfreshExplorer
- jdbossExplorerThere is a lock set for the Torklift Fastguns. They work well, but on our rig there is a little finesse involved with getting them in the locking holes as they line up perfectly (or not) with the camper jacks. There is a little twisting of the FastGuns to get them to clear. All said, the FastGuns are great!

Mike,
Many thanks for your insight on F250, of course safety is number one and I do not want to overload it. Can you "lock" the fasterners for the TC? Would people steal those? I am new at this so I have no idea?
As always, many thanks

If you're talking about the Torklift Fastguns, yes, they you can buy locks for them. I have a set of locks for mine. - YongkieExplorerMike,

Yongkie - billygExplorerI would like to share what we did to have a head in the 5.7 camplite. The 2011 version has two steps used to climb into the queen size cab over. I created a throne in the upper step that is the perfect height. Using a molded seat which I got at West Marine it was custom fitted to the step. There is a perfect fitting bucket lined with bags under the seat. You do your business, bag up, dispose and everything goes back into the step. This works well and you are not cramped in a little box. Being adults about it no one has had a problem. Having a small truck and a small camper you need to think outside the box. Bill
