It's mdf, lower base is 12x12 (I think, maybe 14x) and upper is 8x8. Routed all edges on router table with round-over bit. Then attached to that is a toilet flange, and then a 3" to 1.5 inch reducer. Then I drilled it and used a hitch pin to connect sign post to the base, that way it is stable and sturdy but easy to breakdown for storage/transport.
It was all primed and the based is painted a hammered bronze.
I will try and get a better shot of the base tonight.
