I would only say that in 38 years of camping. I have had only 2 things taken. One was an empty cooler, and a hat, and that could have been blown away.
It has been my experience that campers are not only the friendliest people, but also the most trustworthy, and helpful. I still do not lock my grill, or chairs up at night. however at Myrtle Beach. I do lock the bikes up at night. Lots of folks not from around here there.
Having said that. I do realize that many of the new breed of campers have not been taught to respect others, or their stuff. So it may be a little more prudent to be more careful
