Lying to the insurance company might seem like the easy solution, but if they can show you lied to them, they have legal grounds to refuse any claim you make and not pay you. At best, you might be able to force them to pay after a long and expensive lawsuit.
There are ways to solve this problem without lying. I agree that Escapees might be a good resource for dealing with this.
