You need to get new battery. Trailer brakeaway emergency brakes depend on it as well as other stuff.
Are you TOWING the trailer on public roads without a battery?
I hope not.
No working battery means your emergency break away system will not function..
Every state requires a functioning break away system if your trailer is equipped with electric brakes..
If you can afford to buy a "jump start" unit, you CAN afford to at least buy a group 24 battery or heck even a lawn and garden tractor battery.. On utility trailers the break away systems use a $20 5 Ahr or a bit larger gel cell..
Fines will be far more costly than a new battery and other motorists lives are at risk..
5Ahr gel cell is $20..
Your "jump start" battery for $40 is a terrible purchase if you are using for only opening the slides..
If you are towing it on PUBLIC ROADS IT MUST HAVE A WORKING BREAK AWAY SYSTEM.. No battery on board = no break away system.
Not only that you mentioned that hooking trailer up to your vehicle blows fuses so I am assuming you tow it without marker/tail lights and not even using the trailer brakes?
Not to mention I don't know where you are buying GC batteries at, you can buy those at Sam's Club or Costco for about $80 per 6V battery or a total investment of $160 for one pair.
There is no excuse for towing your trailer on public roads without having all the proper lighting and braking system in working order..
There is a reason why some states like mine that INSIST on having a annual inspection on trailers.. It ensures folks are at least fixing the stupid simple things like brakes and lights..
