Yes, a jump pack will power your slide, no problem. beyond that, I`m assuming you tow this trailer? if so are the trailer brakes electric or hydraulic? if electric yes they will work when connected to the truck. now disconnect the 7-way and pull the pin and you will not have trailer brakes (emergency break away) if and when you need them.
if your finding a jump pack for $40 it is going to be a cheapy. Wal-Mart sells deep cycles for less than $100! and using your trailer when hooked up to shore power without a battery is asking a lot from your converter. the battery acts as a buffer for the 12V system so you don`t get flickering lights.
Now what kind of trailer do you have? and do you tow it all the time?
