If folks want to see the images, then hit the "quote reply" button in the OP's first post and do a message preview and you can see the images (but do not actually reply to post.) Yes, quite convoluted, but at least the images can be seen.
The above method of which I describe may work for folks that do not have the "Show images that are part of posts (not recommended for dial-up users)" box checked in the "My Preferences" tab. That was my problem for images not showing, I just activated that and the images now show up for me.
Apologies for perhaps a useless post on my part (still learning the RV.net ropes) but this may help others:)
