Curious why you need such a big bunkhouse for 2 people? There are a lot of bunkhouse trailers that are much lighter that would better suit your tow vehicle.

Probably less than 1,000. My neighbor had a 1500 ecodiesel with a 950 payload.

So we found a trailer that weighs much less, its a flagstaff 29bhsd with dry weight of 7500 pounds. The dealer's technician said the current truck will pull it. the tongue weight seems to be in specs so i think we are good on this one.

It would help if you would post your yellow tag on your door jamb like 2112 posted above.

It's a fiver. They weigh more. The pin weight is only 820 lbs. Very doable for most half tons.

Once you load it up you’ll be pushing 9k and 1000lbs tongue weight. Still too much.

You still haven’t answered important questions for us to help you better. What is your truck’s payload on the door sticker? How much weight will you carry in the truck (all people, stuff in the bed etc?

I think your ratings are off too. The highest listed eco diesel tow rating is 9210lbs and that’s a regular cab 2x4 truck. I’m going to assume since you are looking at bunkhouse trailers that you probably have a crew cab. If that’s the case your rating is between 7500 and 8500lbs depending on which gearing you have and if its 2x4 or 4x4. Payload is probably only around 1400lbs, likely less. With that trailer tongue weight you’d have less than 400lbs left for people and stuff in the truck before overloading.

I’ll throw another wrench in the duck bucket. I see you’re from Florida as am I.

Where and how often do you plan on towing? If you’re talking occasionally around FLORIDA, then you might get away with a little less truck.

If you’re talking mountains, too much truck is not enough.

The tow rating doesn’t mean much and is the last number you should be concerned with. With 1/2 ton trucks you will far exceed many other ratings (payload, tire, axle) before reaching the tow rating. To keep it simple, for a trailer of 8k plus you really should be looking at 3/4 ton trucks. If you are not willing to get a heavier duty truck find a trailer that is under 8k LOADED, ie 6500lbs max dry weight, and even that might be pushing it depending on what you carry in the truck.

A Rebel is not the solution. Even though it has a higher tow rating it is a worse tow vehicle. It is built with a soft suspension and tires for off-road use which is not ideal for towing.

I towed the trailer in my sig with a 1/2 for 2 years. It’s much smaller and lighter than what you’re looking at (34’ and 7600lbs loaded). We were over gvwr by 400lbs and at max on axle rating. I added e rated tires, airbags, and use a $3k hitch to improve towing but it was still less than a comfortable experience.

1340 pound Rebel payload is adequate for that type of vehicle. Even my Tahoe is 1595. Newer ones are more.
