Next time, learn to work with sheet metal, you will save considerable weight. I have a supplier of metal close to me, Discount Steel, that sells a variety of aluminum sheet goods. The vinyl coated aluminum sheets are great to work with, finished surface/paintable and they are easy to cut or form.
