Not sure about the RAM filter, but with my RV and my ford (both diesels), I go by the minder. And after 5 years the RV got close enough to replace that I replaced it, the ford only has 15k on the filter since and every mechanic I talked to say they are easilly 100k filters unless you drive a lot in really dusty environments.
