can I use a site with 50amp with my 30amp plug??

Hi like it says can i use a 50amp plug in at the campground with a 30amp plug and adaptor?? will it cause any problems with my trl?? only asking as the site we would like to book is only 50amp thanks

  • Right On Ill Stop by my dealer and pick up a adapter plug for it then and take the site we want rather then take one we don't thanks again everyone :)

  • You just may have to cut back you're usage... Two A/C's microwave, and coffee pot might not all get along at the same time with 30A. Just be careful.

    Nope. Electricity isn't like that. 50Amp is what is available to be used per hot leg (a normal 50 amp service has 2 hot legs for a total of 100 amps available). Your normal 30 amp plug has one hot leg and the service provides 30 amps available. Your trailer will be perfectly fine

    In fact I plug my 30 amp trailer into 50 amp service anytime it is available. Generally the 50 amp service is newer and less used/worn than the typical 30 amp service plug
