Can you use your camper with the slideout not out?

Most manf try to make it where you have a path to the fridge and bathroom when the slide is in...

When overnighting somewhere I don't think many of us put the slides out. They do stick out and may get someones head banged up or another vehicle might run into it...

I do occasionally see the slide out and folks sitting in lawn chairs at the walmarts...

No, honestly with the slide in, a little tight getting through but nothing major.

And it stays very warm. Spent a week up in North Dakota early last month and nights were cold. Low 20's and we stayed snug and warm. I was surprised at how much propane we had remaining when I refilled the tanks.

However, I did make one major mistake. On one of the coldest nights, I didn't extend the slide all the way out. Figured it would keep us warmer. WRONG! Silly me never noticed until the next morning that it was not sealed around the bottom corners of the slides unless they were either all the way in, or all the way out.

Oh well, one learns, sometimes the hard way.

AF811 is tight but I have used it slide in.

Even in a truck stop, there's room to deploy the slide... but parking at a truck stop is very noisy when parked between all the trucks.... so I wouldn't recommend that as a viable option for overnighting if you are a light sleeper and can't deal with noise.

Lance 1161...YES...that is one of the reasons for the rebuild...that camper is so usable for us!
