Hot shot haulers are not towing a loaded rv if this matters. From my experience a hotshot is driving so much faster than we tow their momentum helps on the climbs. Coming home one pulled into the weigh scale on I-84 with a long line of semi's on a rolling stop. Soon after he was on our tail again. He was driving a Ram but he was working not enjoying the drive as we were maybe.

Davis Dam/Union Hill has a stop light near the bottom of the pull, no running start on a red light. That is one of the pulls that is fairly straight and is a fair race hill for Troy and his friends that what to show off.
Momentum at the bottom has minimal effect on a 7 mile pull. Short humps on interstates yes, mountain passes no! But that has the semi's of yesteryear, modern trucks just roll up the hills with ease.
We have quite a few passes in the NW:
Hiway 20 - North Cascades
Hiway 2 - Stevens pass
I-90 - Snoqualmie Pass
White Pass
Blewett Pass
I-90 Lockout
I-84 Cabbage Patch
I-5 Syskiyou Mountain
