Man our 2003 Dodge with 235 HP and 460 pounds of torque is a mere go-kart when compared to the new diesels. However it does get around 20 mpg unloaded and 14 pulling our 2 horse trailer. It will even get us (slowly) to the top of any Mt. pass in the USA.
Your '03 is an incredible truck, especially when you look back 14 years further to a 1989 Dodge/Cummins turning out 160 HP and 400 lb ft of torque. (I remember the magazine articles describing 400 lb ft of torque as "gobs of torque") Moving ahead 14 years from your '03 to the 2017 Ford introduces a change which is just as dramatic. (the new trucks have air conditioned massage seats, panoramic roof, trailer tire air pressure monitoring and 1000 lb ft of torque) I'm sure the newly designed Ram which is rumored to be revealed in 2019 will be every bit, if not more, phenomenal.
