Caterpillar hasn't made on-highway truck engines for the US market in at least 10 years. They won't be supplying any engines to Ford, or anybody else, for use in a pickup, or any vehicle that goes down the highway legally. CAT is OUT of the US on-highway engine market, completely.

But you are right, Ford's will be Fords.
CAT jumped out of the US market because of EPA emissions issues after the C-series engines in the early/mid 2000's.
SoCal... your partly correct, they did stop making OTR engines a few years back, but eventually developed their own OTR Trucks,in early 2011 they came out with the CT660 for the North American market. Then they came out with the CT680 and CT681...
