No ones claiming they race there trucks/camper up a hill but what I'm saying is that ~500hp and 1,000 ft lbs will sure pull that camper a lot easier up that hill with more options on the speed your comfortable with.
I have been towing 5th wheels in the Western states starting in 1997, first with a 1993 Ram/Cummins stock except for waste gated turbo, then the 2001.5 and a larger 5th wheel(tuned to 325/650 at the rear wheels), and now the 2015 with 385/865 and a new 16k GVWR 5er. None of these trucks were/are lacking power to get the job done. BTW the 93 was 160/400.
So I do not buy into that HP/Torque needs to continue to go up. Come out and run up and down a few of our mountain passes and find the curves and other traffic are the limiting factors not HP/Torque.
We pulled the Grapevine on I-5 a few years ago in lane 3 at 55mph with cars in lane 4 going by at 70-75mph, lane 2 with 25-40mph trucks and lane 1 with trucks crawling along.
It was like a 3d super action movie watching everything happening in front of us. Along with seeing and smelling over heated brakes on trucks going down on the over lanes.
But if you have a need for speed so be it. It seems to feed some ego's, but is it needed in the real world, not!
Several in this thread have called for you to grow up, maybe it is time for you to turn your hat around so the bill is in the front, quit being an attack dog?
