This is something I just discovered. There is a sort of dual hitch receiver on the back of the truck. Both are 2”.

Another angle of the dual hitch in back. I was only looking at the single one.

This is what I have in the front. A set of 2” receivers. They are loose. They pivot up and down.

This is what the fronts look like underneath at the attachment points. They are individual units, not connected to each other. The right side of the picture is the front of the truck. The left side is the back of the truck. The black metal is the 2” hitch receiver. The rust metal is a support bolted to the frame. The receiver tube (black) pivots on the bolt in the lower right hand corner of this pic. That allows the receiver to pivot upwards and downwards at the bumper. If you look closely, you can see a gap above the bolt on the lower left side of the pic. That gap is a space between the receiver tube and frame. I have this receiver tube pivoted upward, toward the sky to illustrate the gap. Was think of jamming something into that gap, but it’ll probably fall out over bumps.

This is the other side of one of the pivoting front receiver tubes. You can see the L bracket was supposed to keep it from pivoting but it doesn’t work.
Given this is what I’m working with, should I go back to the front rack idea and do all that work knowing it might block the radiator, block the headlights and get covered in bugs?
Or should I keep at the back hitch idea? And what about my dual rear hitch receivers? Anything I can do there?
