Cave Campers

I'm not sure I understand who wants one like that without a toilet or cabinets. Maybe someone who owns one will post. I could see potentially if they made tie downs to hold containers, etc for removable storage. However, I do have friends that built their own frames inside aluminum toppers for hunting. I don't know if that model would support weight inside off truck or not. Support by the tailgate is kind of cheesy.

I'd prefer a Four Wheel Camper popup shell instead. For the hardside, a Capri Camper like this one http://capricamper.com/models/retreat/ is similar with a bit more finish.

This could go in back of a 2500/3500 SRW and be setup for tools for tradesman type. My brother is a carpenter and looking at moving from a Van back to a pickup. Problem with pickup is you have to put a cap on it and everything just gets tossed in back of bed, no order, can't stand up inside it, etc.

This could be setup to fit the bill. they could even have an option of a table and bench in corner for portable office or place to eat lunch. Put a roof rack on it for ladder and you just opened up a whole new audience of possible customers.

sort of misleading, the entire truck bed is not available for walking as it is between wheelwells at 47 inches.

The simplicity and the separate bed layout remind me of the old Mitchell Fishing Hut camper. The Fishing Hut in my opinion was one of the best Thoreauean TC's

I found that putting on a camper and taking it off is a lot of work. Maybe these are light enough to stay on all the time, or at least for the field season.

For $10,000 they are too bare bones. I just sleep in the back of my pu with a canopy on it, especially when towing a boat.

Nice upgrade from a tent, especially in bear country. You could use a camp stove to cook with and add a handpump sink if you wanted to. I wouldn't mind having one if I planned to travel alone all the time.

It looks to be a very nice basic little camper and would be perfect for a minimalist to enjoy.

I like it.

And I like the rental business idea. I've seen overseas tourists who rent minivans which are set up for camping. This could be better, or serve a slightly different market, than the van renters.

I like this... Would be perfect shell for my F150 Truck bed...

My first thought is this is perfect for camping in west Texas with west Texas dust. If you have never experienced this stuff, it is an ultra fine powdery dust that has a static electric charge and clings to EVERYTHING. The ability to hose it out is the only way one might ever clear an RV of the stuff. Then I noticed they are based in San Marcos, TX which is between San Antonio and Austin at the edge of the Texas hill country.
