I agree that Carfax can work in some instances but it wouldn't with my personal vehicle. I bought a Dodge Durango from a gent and he told me upfront that his uncle had gotten into quite an accident with it and he was getting old enough to surrender his license. I saw the repair order from the dealer's body shop for $5000+ and nothing shows up on Carfax about this incident.
