CarFax
A friend of mine who is a very large car and truck wholesaler told me that anyone who adds a 5th wheel by welding or drilling holes will now have there trucks added to the Carfax. And a drop in blue book value.

- I assume that would only get on carfax if they went to a dealer that carfax gets records from & in a computer data base..????? I bought a used car that was two pieces put together (two cars) the car fax was clean with no accidents..........
- Only if the work is done by a "reporting Service Facility" and then only it they think it is worth reporting!
- CarFax only gets info someone gives them.
Dealer friend pointed out. An example.
Reporting a damaged rear bumper. Will be recorded as rear end damage.
Could be minor or major. They never say. - CarFax is a JOKE. DO NOT use their info in your purchase decision!!
- For sure...close friend went to trade in her car... carfax said it had been totalled when it had never been in any accident. Carfax wouldn't help and took her, her bank and insurance company weeks to straighten it out!
