Just because the car fax says the odometer should be higher, doesn't mean that car fax is right. Some one could have entered 190,000 miles at the time of the accident when it was 90,000 miles. There are a ton of inaccuracies with car fax. There are even instances where one owner cars have a bad car fax and the owner knows that the car has never been in an accident. Carfax is absolutely worthless. It's a for profit scam in my opinion.
Total BS
Of course there's a chance that someone mis-entered information but that's not a chance I'm willing to take.
Too many other fish in the sea; taking him to look at another 05 on Tuesday, 122k miles, seller says perfect shape (we'll see), asking $10900. Sounds like a realistic number if it checks out well.
Wow, had no idea Carfax had such a big anti-fan base! I think it is what it is, and if you use it knowing what it's limitations are then it's just something to consider.
Also interesting is that I left the seller a voicemail a few hours ago stating that according to Carfax it's an odo rollback and we won't be taking a 2nd look as planned. If the guy knew for a fact that's incorrect and it really has 94k I think my phone would've rang with an exasperated seller challenging me on that finding. No call back thus far.
