Carfax is just a tool to use when buying a car. IF something doesn't make sense,its probably wrong.You need to do your homework and check the vehicle out in more detail. Carfax is NOT 100% reliable,not even close.If the repair agency is not a reporting agency the repair will not show. A lot of info is reported wrong. I did a carfax on my own truck to see what was on there. I am the original owner. Some info was missing entirely and others were just wrong. In one instance it showed a set of tires that was purchased and installed,only the tires were for the trailer.:h A lot of maintenance was missing,along with mileage discrepancies. I would say about 60% correct.
