ceiling repair frp vs luan board
Hi-
I have a 96 19' Prowler. The roof leaked over the last few years. I have that shored up pretty well. I resealed the skylight in the shower- replaced the ceiling 2x2 supports that needed it and finished with a panel of RFP. I like it.
But, now I have a bigger ceiling section (almost 4x8) to do in the front of the trailer. It is all re-braced and solid. Ready to cover- But now, I am not sure if RFP is the best choice. Here is my question.
Although the water resistance of RFP is a plus, if I do get some water in from roof again, is it a problem that it will just be sitting on fiberglass panel??
I'm sure the answer lies in the soundness of the roof- it will be hard to keep it waterproof year after year...
any input about use of FRP vs. Luan for ceiling welcome !!
thanks-
