Central Ohio family camping

I am new to camping and looking for some good campgrounds in the central Ohio area and to meet up with some other campers in the area.
  • Evergreen rv park, and Baylor Beach are both in Amish country and very nice.
  • Going to meet up with family from central OH and camp at Hocking Hills in October for the first time. Looking forward to it.
  • Mohican State park gets great reviews. On the river, has canoeing and float tube trips, fishing, etc.

Hocking Hills is a beautiful state park with wonderful hiking trails and horseback riding.
  • Just looking for full hookup and things for young kids (7 and 2) todo. We bought camper in July and have been to alum creek a couple times and we also are going to alum creek this weekend. We really like that park because sites are shady and they have themed activities going on a lot.
  • Take a look at the Ohio State Parks. www.dnr.state.ohio.us . Also the Muskingum Water Conservancy District's site; mwcd.org. Then check on rvparksreviews.com for comments.

We don't know what you are looking for. Boondocking, full hookups, whatever????? Let us know and we can help.
  • Best I know of is Indian Lake, at Lakeview, OH. Huge CG on a beautiful lake, lots of great shade trees, fishing, boating, swimming. They have only about 12 full hookups, which IMHO are not sensational unless they've fluffed them up since we were there in May, but the standard sites are very nice. It's about 45 min NE of Columbus. Have a good time. Happy Camping! and welcome to the forum.
