Chairs that spin and have reclining feet pad?

I'm trying to find a chair that will allow us to sit at the table, but also spin and raise a foot-pad in the isle up enough to relax.

I've seen some that work with the basement, where the clearance is enough because the table sits higher due to raised floor.

Can't find one that will work bolted to the seat and still rotate out into the isle, and then act like a recliner, sorta.

Maybe that's asking too much -- with so little clearance??? :(
  • Some "Euro style recliners are mounted on a center post sort of like an old style barstool or an office chair. You might be able to shorten the pipe to a suitable length. Not real sure what you are asking.
  • Some of the older SnowRiver campers had the "Command Seating" feature that did what you describe. They were unique to the truck camper industry.
  • Look for Class A or camper van front seats - They should do what you want.
  • I think you are up to do some science here.
Due to cramps in my legs, I love recliners. Have 4 of them in my house.
But good recliner needs 6 feet of space for comfortable seating.
You are not going to get that in TC.
We have big dinette in our TC slider. Being only 2 of us, I can have whole side to myself, so some boat padding + drawer slide out at the end of the dinette sofa for leg support do work for me.
On the other hand, I am shopping around for set of bar stools for my new house.
Plenty of choices of cheap stools. I even bought 2 of them for immediate use. The short back is not giving good support, low arms are not comfortable and feet support turn with the seat, so forget about stretching your legs.
Found stools that LOOK comfortable, but since I need at least 4 at $500 a piece have to get 2nd mortgage.
  • I'm not thinking 'living room recliners' - I'm thinking sorta bar-stool size with an extension like a recliner for legs/feet.

I've seen them with a stool-type base, which if I can find something like that, I'd remove the base and fit it on the U-shaped seat - maybe with modifications. We have a Lance 845, so the floor is not wide, as in some basement models - and like in that photo posted above -- that won't work, needs raised floor which we don't have ...

Been looking awhile, and thought maybe someone on here might link me to an RV furniture storefront - but I might be begging for a non-existent chair.

ON EDIT:: Seems the closest thing - looks like - a reclining gaming chair for TECH Gamers ... but not exactly, because the arms won't fit under the table, then it would swing out and extend for the "lounge effect" ...

Probably ain't nothing small enough, looks like...
  • In the June 2016 Mods section in Truckcamper magazine is a recliner addition to a dinette area

That is the article I was thinking of. Thanks for posting this. I didn't know when TC mag posted it.
  • Yes - nice design - never even thought of changing tables like this - it would work, and could build in little 'flip-out' footrests if needed.

Thanks for the posts guys ... once again RV.net comes to the rescue :)

ON EDIT: This is a slide-out, but would still work with a non-slide, which we have ... and could be permanent or removable. It also leaves space beside chairs would would be useful - build a small cabinet and "hide" laptops etc right between the chairs.

    Here is a thought:

See if a reclining wheel chair can be adapted to your situation. There are many configurations, they are relatively light and easily modified with common hardware.

Take the wheels off, mount on a swivel stand and you may have the function you are looking for.
