When you get that big and heavy you might be better off getting a class c mounted on a truck chassis, I mean those things are probably about 6000lbs wet

I looked at this model at princess craft here in Texas . Really nice TC!! Your truck should be fine if you add some mods. Maybe extra leaf like i did with my truck. Also 19.5 Wheels and tires .

I think it depends on how the Chalet is optioned. My guess is that it is fine. 19.5s won't add much to a drw other than stiffening it a bit with shorter sidewalls and tougher tires. The stock drw tires hold way more than the axle will.

A larger Lance isn't exactly light. Search here including the archives. There are a few posts about Chalets. Keep in mind that TCS are individually made and the quality can vary.

We ordered our Chalet TS-116 a year ago. Delivery from dealer in March 2014 in Oregon. Couldn't be happier. Well built Tc, aluminum structure, with real wood everywhere. It is heavy at 5865 pounds loaded. After 6000 miles the old Dodge is fine for the job, not perfect but nothing is. Only mods so far Timbren rear and front and HD shocks. I never go off road or over 65mph and I get 16m/g. One titan jack was replaced ( noisy ) and the plexy glass of the Heki skylight was also replaced ( broken handle ) under warranty here in Montreal. Very good customer service from Chalet.

I have a 2013 TS116 with every option including both fold away bunks except for satellite dish. I carry it on a 2013 Ford F350 CC Dually 4x4 6.7 diesel 14K GVWR. I have upper and lower stable loads and it sits a little low in the rear. We like everything about it. We used to have a 2009 Host and when we went to replace it with a new one, we felt the build quality of the Host wasn't as good as our 2009 any more. So after seeing the Chalet we decided to go with it. Much more room than the Host Mammoth, but really heavy. To me I don't take it off road or drive over 65, maybe 70 down hill. The weight police will have me.
The truck hauls and stops with it just fine. I can't really tell any difference between the Host and it. I will be adding better sway bars though.

Thanks for reports,do you use cabover struts? Or with the center of gravity more towards the front you don't need them? Is there a chalet owners website?
