The OP gave complete info. To paraphrase....towin my big 5th wheel to estes park, CO. How much more info is needed?
It's up to the OP to decide if spendin 3 grand is worth the marginal extra ooomph that gearing down will provide.
And from his statement that most of the towing is local (Iowa), the gears won't be of much use at all until the next trip to CO.
This is just another case of buyers remorse and a gear swap won't really fix that, IMO.
Totally different scenario than an old Yukon with like 200hp and swapping to 4.56s.
