XL is a P tire with more pressure and weight rating. Not an LT.
OD not quote me, but a P=xL seems to be a cross between a LR C and a P metric tire. But with LR C ability. Much like P metrics with speed ratings. I have yet to see if they need to be de-rated like a true P-metric used in a truck/trailer setting my 9% or not.....
I would still prefer an LR C in the OP's situation.
I've also run different sized tires front and rear on a 4wd, BUT, I had 245-75-16s on the front of my old 05 dually, and the standard 215-85-16's on the rear. Both had the same diam, revs per mile etc. One could do this with 235-85-16 and 265-75-16 tires too.
