Mine weren't an EXACT match, 285/75-16's and 33x12.50-16.5's, but they were close enough to use 4wd safely, in low traction situations where 4wd was warranted. Once in a while, on hard dirt, I had to put it in reverse and spin the tires to get the hubs to unlock.
My Bronco hubs bind up like that too sometimes in 4wd, with 3.50 gears in the rear and 3.54 up front, same size tires all around. The gearing mismatch is factory stock.
Before my diesel F350 burned down, I had plans to change the 4.10 gearing to 4.56 front and 4.63 rear, that being the closest combination I could get between the Dana 60 front axle and Dana 80 axle I was planning to swap in place of the Ford 10.25" rear. I think it would have been fine, provided 4wd used judiciously when needed. The fire ended those plans :|
