I may be replacing the tranny with the 4L80E that comes in the HD models and still be money ahead by maintaining rather than replacing the truck. I've owned it for almost 5 years now and know everything that it doesn't need. I've spent a lot of money on it but I've spent far, far less than I would have on truck payments. I used to be the guy that would trade every 2 or 3 years but, as I've aged, I've gotten over that. ;)
