They are swapping out the gears and replacing my axle seals for parts and $300 labor. It should be right at $600 for the whole thing. The transmission shop that I called was between $1000 and $1500. The place that's doing the work is called Gears Unlimited and rear end work is all they do. They came highly recommended by a racing buddy.
You will be very happy with how well it drives and tows. and you should feel refreshed after your nap! LOL
BTW, what ratio are you going with?
