I can already tell the difference even though I can't tow or get on it for 500 miles. I had a 3/4 ton Sierra 2500HD 4WD but traded it off because I didn't see myself ever pulling a trailer again. Hindsight. :)

If you decide to swap the 4L60E for the 4L80E, just be aware the ratio spread is smaller on the 4L80. 1st in the 4L80 is not as low at 2.48 vs 3.06, and 4th is not as high at 0.75 vs 0.70.

I had thought about it but someone told me today that it just has a bigger shaft and not really beefier. I don't really know. Do you? I do know there are some nice aftermarket transmissions out there for not much more than the price of the 4l80e.
