Changing Tire

Has anyone used the Anderson leveler to change a tire? They have something called a "Rapid Jack" but it seems like the regular system would do the same thing without having to spend another $50. I am wanting to change out my tires at the storage facility. I have a 2014 Keystone Bullet 246RBS (4 tires).

I have the levelers and they are only 4" tall. I think the "Rapid Jack" is 7" tall. Driving up on my standard leveler with one axle does not lift the other axle (tire) off the ground. I don't know if the extra 3" lift of the "Rapid Jack" would be enough to get the tire up or not.

I love the levelers for side to side leveling but did have a problem with them sliding on some wet grass one time. I had to fall back to the trusty old 2x6 blocks that time.
  • I gotta change all four, I have the Anderson levelers with the big jack one, But Once i get one side off I gotta put 'er up on jack stands, so two bottle jacks are what I need. Have had the Andersons for over two years now and hadn't have to use them, still looking forward to it!
  • I did a search before I posted but didn't find what I was looking for. Found some Youtube videos where they are just driving the trailer up on a couple of 2"x6" which is giving them enough room to change the tire.
  • For previous posts search this Forum for `anderson' then search the results for `leveler'. I have a concern that they may not be wide enough to support the entire tire footprint.
  • I have the Trailer-Aid ramp and it works great. I swapped out all 4 tires in about an hour. Fortunately, haven't had to use it in an emergency. I have homemade Andersen levelers. I don't know if they would raise the tire high enough to change.
