Computer boards in vehicles are expensive and you have to get them installed by the dealer. The one that controls my remotes went out (that's all it does is the remote) - $600 to replace. I just unlock the doors with the key now.
Personally, I'd still rather replace the main board in mine for $700 than buy a new vehicle for $40K.
