Check list

Can some one share their "check list" they use when hooking up a trailer and then unhooking at an RV site?? Kinda like the check list pilots use before take off and when landing.

    Trailer
  • The travel trailer section might be a better place to post this.
  • I don't have a check list I follow, but I do have my routine I've established out of habit after years and years of travel trailer ownership.

    1. Level right to left (I use boards)
    2. Chock wheels (both sides)
    3. Plug power cord into shore power
    4. Block under tongue jack
    5. Unhitch from truck, including removing Weight Distribution Bars, Safety Chains, and unplugging the trailer umbilical cord.
    6. Pull truck forward to clear the trailer coupler
    7. Level the trailer front to rear
    8. Put boards under the 4 corner stabilizer jacks and lower jacks.
    9. Open trailer door and yell at wife, "Slide away!" (meaning the trailer is now stable and it's OK to extend the slides). I always ask her to extend the electric awning.
    10. Fill water tank and use the bathroom!

    11. I don't deal with black or grey tank, or hooking up sewer hoses, or using the Blue Tote until I'm ready to dump tanks the first time.

    12. Put out yard mats.
    13. Reposition picnic table
    14. Get folding chairs out

    15. I don't open the outside kitchen (flip down) until actually ready to use it.
  • There are so many checklists available on the net. All you have to do is a google search, select the one or ones you like, then customize it to your desire.
