Check those tires...

Stopped to diesel up this morning and something caught my eye with my front tire, 2 screws in it. I walked around the back of my truck and another 6 in my duallies and 1 more in the other front tire. Total of 9 screws in all six tires. Luckily tires only had 3200 miles on them and all screws where only 1/4 inch so no damage and no leaks. Have no idea where I got them but this could have been a major headache if screws were longer. Moral of long winded story, walk around your vehicle while fueling and make sure all is okay. Happy travels everyone.

Good you caught them; even though they were not long enough to penetrate, if gone unnoticed, the heads will wear off (where you can't see them) and eventually get pushed through to cause a leak.

Being a former SBDI & activity driver .... force of habit, truck & 5er get a walk around before each start up. 30 seconds of preventive action could save a few bucks.
  • Good reminder. You can pick up screws, nails, etc. just about anywhere.

I just plugged a tire because of a screw.
  • Glade the spare survived :B or did you not check it also?
    Dam careless construction guys :W
