Chevy 2500HD 6.2?
Ran into a Chevy dealer and was informed that there is a strong probability that the 6.2 with 8 speeds will be offered soon in the 2017 2500 series? I know this topic has been beaten to death before, ...

If I ever considered to trade mine, I would go with a standard or one with torque and few gears verses a low torque engine with to many gears that are always on the hunt.
Did your daughter have a Cherokee or Grand Cherokee? The 9 speed in the Cherokee has been very troublesome.
I have yet to hear a complaint about the 8 + speed tranny's in the other vehicles. I personally have driven many in the rental fleet 200/300's and have been very impressed. Heard the same positive comments regarding the 8 speed in the RAMs.
To the OP's question, I would not be surprised if GM either updated the 6.0 or added an option of the 6.2. While the 6.0 still performs pretty well in the 2500's, it is at a pretty big disadvantage to what RAM and Ford offer.
