I still feel there would more demand for a plug in hybrid than fully electric vehicle. The rear wheels could be electrically driven while the front uses a transverse FWD ICE power train. Cost of this hybrid system seems to be the biggest hurdle rather than going exclusively with with ICE or BEV.
According to this report, there's a F150 hybrid coming
Ford hasn't released much about the hybrid other than it won't diminish capabilities and will eliminate the need for a contractor to have a generator at the jobsite. But, it would make a lot sense if elements of these two hybrid systems are incorporated.

"it accelerates the way a cop car should, and there is no funny business going on between the 10-speed, the electric motor, and the engine; they cooperate for the greater good of hauling ass. "
I suspect that a pickup is going to need the main motor driving the rear wheels for traction when heavily loaded and that the hybrid will either be driving the front tires or the same driveshaft as the main motor.
Keep in mind too that Ford is working with Rivian and may borrow some solutions from them.
