Tesla vehicles create profit but carry a heavy burden from continuous expansion of existing production, continuing technology development and new vehicle development. Does Tesla the company make a profit... certainly not.
Exactly, and pioneers always carry the big burden of research and development.
And start ups, think all those computer companies, are unprofitable until they achieve economies of scale that will absorb all the development costs and overhead into bigger production and higher number of units produced.
Why do you think every car company is now going into it if there is no profit at the end of the rainbow?
