I think population density and the MUCH higher cost of fuel makes Europe a better place to launch. For example:
US $ and US Gallon
Paris $5.54
London UK $5.79
Frankfurt $5.57
Yah that’s for sure Don. We travel a lot of miles by rental cars in Europe in a bunch of different countries. It’s pricey. A lot of fun though...and hard on the waste line. :)
There should have been more wine than the servings of those tasty food for that fat dissolving true Mediterranean diet.
Lol. Ain’t that a fact. We kind of go with the flow. More beer up north in Holland and Germany etc and lean towards the wine and such further south. We are amateur historians and follow history lines as guides for some of our trips. We even get down into North Africa a bit. Mostly Morocco. I’m a Polyglot and work hard at always improving. Such an advantage when dealing with other cultures and trying to assimilate into them even a little. It is an amazing world and there is so much to see and learn.
Likewise, for total cultural immersion, museums, traditional local food and beer.

I think I need more beer as I still cannot completely discern the difference between the pales from Oslo, Norway and that in Athens.
