Chevy LT4 6.2L V8 with 457 lb-ft of torque just off idle !

I thought GM was putting a 6.2 in the 2014 or 2015 trucks. Is that not the same engine? I'm guessing not by the prior comments.

The Ford 2000 6.8L V10 puts out about 300HP and 400lb ft tq @ 3800 rpm compared to about 450HP @ 3800 rpm and 650lb ft tq @ 3600 rpm for the LT4 6.2L V8.

Look at the chart again.

200 hp with your foot mashed to the floor lugging at 1100 rpm isn't going to seem like a tow beast to the driver. But it wouldn't be bad for sure.

None of the 6.2 engines are rated HD use.

Since no one is towing a large TT/5th wheel with a Corvette I guess it is a moot point.

My 5.3 was all aluminum. Nothing wrong with that.
