According to the article, Thailand still has the option of joining and they've expressed interest. Other nations also have the option of joining.
I think Thailand has a FTA with the US, that could be one reason to join. Personally I do not see much change either way, except a new Global launch of a Pickup Truck could include North America - ApprovedAnonymous

Nissan and Toyota build their US market trucks here, don't they. Only 'threat' if there is one, is if the trucks from over there are more car like, and more suited to what a lot of families are using trucks for here, but with better fuel economy. The new minivan.............but cooler.

meh - BenKExplorerBetcha the price of full sized trucks (pickups/SUVs/etc) will also drop...
Competition is always a good thing for consumers...
