Trust me every American needs to read this book....your simple statements indicate a lack of knowledge when it comes to both China and economic trends. Google the book title and read a review of this book. The author wrote this book just before he died. He was the worlds leading authority on how the Government in China thinks and understood their short and long term goals.
This is not a conspiracy theory but an accurate fact based report on both the history of China and their long range plan for world conquest.
Today's news shows the hardline China is taking in Hong Kong rounding up all who seek fair democratic elections. These protestors will find themselves in forced labor camps if they are lucky enough to avoid an early grave. No one protests in China without paying a huge price.
Knowledge is power.
Read the book.
I hate to take this topic off thread, but yes, China is still a dictatorship, with some nasty friends. It now reminds me of 1930's Japan in many ways. One interesting fact that I picked up, Nissan was thinking of selling cars in Australia in 1938. We were the first place outside Japan to produce Toyota's
History has a way of repeating itself - UplanderExplorerRead the book .....or.......continue the fantasy....China's society is far older than ours will ever be.

30 odd years ago we thought the same about the Japanese...........that cart sort of crashed on the way to market didn't it.
China as we know it today will not make the long haul. - UplanderExplorerTrust me every American needs to read this book....your simple statements indicate a lack of knowledge when it comes to both China and economic trends. Read the book. - nickthehunterNomad IIIYou don't have to buy anything made in China. There can be no world dominance without active participation. I don't need a book to know that. As long as you blame someone else, you're going to need a book about how to get your head out of the sand.
- UplanderExplorerThe sad fact is that we often have no choice in the matter. For decades American companies have elected to go where things can be made cheap and add to their bottom line and the dopes in public office have made that way too easy. As long as China refuses US Companies the right to own manufacturing facilities in China our dollars will continue to go to China. China has only one goal and that is to dominate the globe....the greed of business has made that easy...much easier than bullets and bombs.....China has long range goals and has the patience to use any method to achieve world domination...no matter how long it takes....take the time to study their methods....suggest you read the book...."CHINA...the gathering threat".
- nickthehunterNomad IIIBefore you talk about greedy and shortsighted you need to consider. You are free to buy anything you want, whether it is made in USA or made in China. Look at the labels on what you own, now who is greedy and shortsighted? And why do the labels say what they say, because we are willing to buy them. When they can make the stuff half way around the globe and ship it to us cheaper than we can make it here, then it looks like we shot ourselves in the foot. Maybe it's time you and me look at our policies and quit blaming someone else for what we did to ourselves.
- UplanderExplorerThe money for this deal came from China selling their goods in the USA. What we see is US dollars returning home but with strings attached. The Travel Trailers go to China for resale. Who makes the money on that deal...US or China....and how long before the Chinese decide they can make even more money if they make the product in China and ship it to the USA and get even more US dollars??
RVIA might read the fine print in these investment contracts and also note what future terms have been omitted!!! Once you send a product to China they feel they have the right to copy it no matter what the contract says...it is "The China Way".
The RV industry might take a page from the Henry Firearms Company....."made in the USA or not made at alll!". Time the greedy short sighted American industries took a hard look at their policies.
Why can't we make the complete product in Indiana? Is the bottom line more important than the future of the American economy?? - timmacExplorerAs Stated in article below, I would like to see that quality built RV to withstand what they want because we all know most other brands cant do this.
The Chinese group initially approached a number of towable manufacturers, including Riverside, during last year’s Louisville Show to build trailers that were durable enough to be used in extreme environments like the base of Mount Everest in Tibet. After an evaluation period, the company decided the Riverside product “best suited their needs.”
“During the negotiation and design process we were so impressed by the product and the company that we decided this would be an excellent investment opportunity,” said Michael Liu, chairman of Beijing Dixing Taihe. As part of the agreement, Riverside will be building and shipping trailers to several locations in China and Tibet.
