Same thing has happened in Australia, where the Chinese purchased a what was dead a brand, that was revived, then bought by the Chinese Chinese purchase US Travel Trailer business

30 odd years ago we thought the same about the Japanese...........that cart sort of crashed on the way to market didn't it.
