Company I worked for had, well has, another bridge, big bascule bridge being fabricated, to "spec." I say another because the first one got turned into scrap 2 years ago after our continuous on site QC was no match for the additional work taking place after hours and not inspected.
Second one is almost done now, about 3 years behind schedule. Lost so much $ on it, it's one of the main reasons my division of that company is no longer in business.
Basically shatty Chinese quality directly cost me and others our jobs. (Or maybe poor Corporate decisions. Either way, don't trust em..
Anyone wonder why the new Johnson Street Bridge in Victoria BC isn't done yet,M thank the Chinese.....to be fair, thank the Canadians too. The City hosed the contractor befor theChinese did.
Funny, had similar fabrication done at local fabricators in Tacoma and Portland. No issues like that. Only problems were de laminating steel sheets.......Chinese steel sheets btw. (Private work, no buy America clause)
