I spent a lot of time running R&D and we decided to have some of our products mfg in Taiwan.
When the first ones came in, I did a full QA and identified everything from alignment and material thicknesses to cold solder joint issues.
I spent a fair amount of time getting the specs revised and the processes fixed on their end. But once the revision and testing processes were completed, their ability to accurately "cookie cutter" was impressive!
I would still pull random products for inspection and testing, but the majority of any future issues were improvements and revisions from the field that WE chose to make.
Foreign owners taking US Taxpayer monies? Yeah...ask the WIND ENERGY companies who got lots of Tax monies and are now foreign owned and STILL get tax breaks :(
