It happened to me.
Dealer put a restricted warranty on a RAM with less than 6k miles "due to a chip" without even taking the truck off the tow truck hook.
The Cummins spun a rod bearing and a restricted warranty means you will pay for everything. Big bucks!
So your truck spun a rod bearing? Or are you saying "if" it spins a rod bearing?
BTW, it would be lot more accurate for people to refer to this as "using a programmer" since there haven't been "Chips" in many years.

I was just curious if the poster had actually suffered a rod bearing failure, which is very unusual. Or, was it just a hypothetical example.
It wasn't an attack on anybody and FWIW, I agree that Dodge will void a warranty when it find evidence of a programmer.
