None of these arguments relate however to Truck Campers, which is what this site is about. American large Truck Campers mainly. Yes, there are some small Popups, that are members of this Forum.
Whether I saw 1 in 12 or 1 in 50 or 1 in 8, does not really matter. I saw a lot of US pickups, and yes there certainly, were more Australia & European vehicles, on my recent trip across Australia, to pickup new Dodge Ram 3500hd 6.7 diesel.
This Forum certainly promotes safety, with people discussing, depending on load size/TC, what vehicle and modifications may be required.
Most Japanese small utility vehicles are not suited to large American TC's. Japanese & Korean trucks, do not provide the same level of comfort & safety in new Luxury American Pickups.
Most TC's do not do River crossings, Mud trails or soft beach sand.
TC's offer access to locations that some Travel Trailers & most Motor Homes can not access,
with ability to Boondocks for days without an RV Park, with a degree of luxury & comfort.
I am 58, have a bar, very close to the Perth Airport, and have travelled all over Australia, many times
over 50 years, as a child living in Adelaide, South Australia and Perth, Western Australia for over 35 years as an adult. I have owned tents and Campers Trailers most of my life, and been in some of the remotest locations, all over Australia, through Rivers, across deserts, wonderful secluded beach locations, but now my wife & I, requires some luxury, to go remote, so Eagle Cap 1160, dry bath, Queen Bed, Sofa, 8 cubic ft fridge, solar, generator, here we come!
This thread was about Chipping.
Thank You, to all those that contributed, about Chipping. I have gained some more information
and sites to view, but probably will leave my 2012 Ram diesel as is.
See you in the Great Outback, Doug
